HOW TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING TO YOU

Picture this: you're in a government contract for a building with another tenant who is nothing but a liability. Your organization has two elderly pilots who refuse to retire, even after one too many close calls and a mid-air collision. You're doing your best to run your organization within the contract's guidelines by hosting free events for the public, but the Airport Administration is making things difficult by demanding a "Risk Assessment Report" and a Special Event Permit that is not required per City Ordinances. Your assessment uncovers that the Joint Liability Tenant has been channeling resources and funding from your organization through the aging pilots, and not following the lease contract terms. It doesn't stop there - the Airport Administration and the Deputy City Managers acknowledged themselves to be collaborators. But you're not one to back down. You report your findings to the City of Mesa Auditor and Assistant City Attorney. However, the Airport Administration responds by locking you out of the building based on no defaults or lease violations, declaring only the mid-air collision pilot as the only authorized tenant on the lease that he did not sign.

Airport Director Requires A "Risk Assessment" To Host Exhibitors In The Hangar

The Falcon Warbirds Foundation extended an invitation to the Copperstate Fly-In 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee to host its exhibitors in the West World War II Hangar. This was for the City of Mesa lease terms that require free events for the public throughout the year. However, there were some challenges in the process. The Airport Administration claimed to lose the documents and maps submitted for approval multiple times. Then the Airport Director rescheduled the fly-in date at the last minute to require a "risk assessment report" and a special event permit. Although, they were not mandatory as per the FAA or City of Mesa Ordinances.

Airport Administration & Special Permit Staff Fabricate More Roadblocks

The staff responsible for airport administration and special permits have added more road blocks for the event. The airport director has requested the City of Mesa's special permit office to mandate a permit. However, the special permit office is not accepting any applications without a prior approval form from the Airport Administration. The Airport Administration, in turn, is withholding the approval form until they receive an approval letter from the Joint Liability Tenant. This is despite being notified about the Joint Liability Tenant's past lease violations and defaults for failing to obtain proper permits and fire inspections for previous events and remodel construction.
